I’ve had a passion for beauty since I was a little girl. I used to sit with a stack of magazines and look at all of the beauty and cosmetic ads. I was fascinated with the makeup, the hair and the glamor. At 14 years old, I was recruited at the mall by a scout from Barbizon Modeling School to enroll in their modeling academy. Makeup artistry was one of the courses in Barbizon’s curriculum. I learned the basics of makeup application, different makeup artistry techniques, and special effects of makeup because of its relevance to film, print, and runway modeling. After learning the art of makeup, I began to perfect my skills. I practiced different looks on myself, my friends, and relatives. By the time I was 16 years old, I became the go to person among my peers to do makeup. I did makeup for prom, homecoming and for special occasions. Years passed and word of my makeup artistry took flight, and I became a sought-after makeup artist. While freelancing as a makeup artist, I also worked in the cosmetic retail industry. Over the course of my career in cosmetic retail, I had the pleasure of working for many brands such as: Clinique, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Chanel and Fashion Fair cosmetics. In 2013, I coined the name Kwillartistry. I began to feature my makeup artistry on mainstream social media outlets such as: Facebook and Instagram and on service provider websites like Thumbtack and Styleseat. My longevity as a Pro Makeup Artist and my lifelong love for beauty is what inspired the creation of the Kwillartistry cosmetic brand. Welcome to Kwillartistry!
