I’ve had a passion for beauty since I was a little girl. My favorite thing to do was sit with a stack of magazines just to look at all of the beauty and cosmetic ads. I was fascinated with the makeup, the hair and the glamor. At 14 years old, I was recruited at the mall by a scout from Barbizon Modeling School to enroll in their modeling academy. Makeup artistry was one of the courses in Barbizon’s curriculum because of its relevance to film, print, and runway modeling. It was there that I learned the basics of makeup application, different makeup artistry techniques, and special effects of makeup. After learning the art of makeup, I began to perfect my skill by practicing different looks on myself, my friends, and relatives. By the time I was 16 years old, I became the go to person among my peers to do makeup for prom, homecoming and for special occasions. As years passed, word of my makeup artistry skill traveled. I began to develop a following and was sought after to do makeup for many people. I eventually began working in the cosmetic retail industry. Over the course of my career in cosmetic retail, I had the pleasure of working for many brands such as: Clinique, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Chanel and Fashion Fair cosmetics. In 2013, I coined the name Kwillartistry. I began to feature my makeup artistry on mainstream social media outlets such as: Facebook and Instagram and on service provider websites like Thumbtack and Styleseat. My longevity as a Pro Makeup Artist and my lifelong love for beauty is what inspired the creation of the Kwillartistry brand. I am so excited to begin the journey of this beauty brand! Not just any brand, but a brand that offers exceptional products and empowers all to embrace their own beauty!
